Nikki and Mike's Wedding Day!

It’s a fact, I LOVE WEDDINGS and none more so than the wedding we photographed yesterday for Nikki and Mike. You couldn’t find a more lovely couple and it was a pleasure being a part of their special day. Nikki and Mike were in the same class at school, but it wasn’t until 7 years ago that the romance blossomed that culminated in their wonderful winter wedding.

Nikki really did look amazing in a beautiful lace gown and lace bolero from 'Forget-Me-Not' designs on the Isle of Wight. It was the perfect dress for her and it was well worth all the trips to the island to get it made. On her wedding day, Nikki was accompanied by her two great friends, Jo and Becky and the cute little flower girl Ella.

Alan met up with the boys, Mike, his best man Nick, ushers Josh, Craig and Dan in the Goods Yard Pub in Broadstone before heading to St John the Baptist church. It was to be a special day for the church too as it was Rev Martin Frediksen’s last wedding before retiring after spending 18 years as vicar of the parish.

Soon it was time for Nikki to arrive on her proud father’s arm as she walked down to aisle to meet her soon to be husband. The ceremony was lovely and afterwards we headed into the church yard for photos before heading off to the reception. Nikki and Mike stopped off at Evening Hill enroute to The Harbour Heights Hotel to have some more photos taken whilst enjoying the wonderful winter sunshine.

Once at Harbour Heights, the sun continued to shine, bathing the Hytes Restaurants in lovely golden light, it looked stunning. The wedding breakfast was served and the speeches delivered. Alan and I hear a lot of speeches, but these ones were lovely, amusing yet sincere and totally appropriate for the occasion!!

Nikki and Mike are off to Paris for their honeymoon in the New Year. We would like to wish them a long and happy marriage and thank them once again for choosing us to photograph their big day. A Christmas wedding for Helen and Miles at New Place Manor

On Saturday, Alan and I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Helen and Miles at the wonderful New Place Manor in Shirrell Heath, just outside Southampton. The crisp winter weather really added to the Christmas theme of this wedding and a special visit from Father Christmas during the wedding breakfast certainly delighted the many children who were invited to share their wonderful wedding day.

The celebrations began for me, at New Place where Helen and her bridal party were getting ready. Helen’s dress by Hollywood Dreams was magnificent and this was complimented perfectly by her choice of bridesmaid dresses in red chiffon with cream sashes from Dessy Designs. Also part of the bridal party were Helen’s adorable niece and nephew, twins Evelyn and Evan, who were quite possibly the best behaved attendants we have ever seen! Alan met up with the boys at the Meon Valley Marriott Hotel, where a nervous Miles was accompanied by his best man Phil, his ushers and his Dad who had flown over from Australia especially for the occasion.

Soon it was time for the ceremony to begin. Helen entered on the arm of a very proud father who handed her to Miles. The vows were exchanged and the couple married. The party could then begin, and after some very seasonal mulled wined the guests were escorted to the terrace for the group photograph and confetti. Helen and Miles stayed outside for just a little bit longer for some more photos in the stunning surroundings.

The wedding breakfast took place in the Arden Suite that was decked out in red and white, with a beautiful cake that had been lovingly created by Helen's mother. The lighting wall made the whole room seem very Christmassy!

After the meal, speeches , and a visit from the man in a red suit, it was time for the band to set up for the newly weds’ first dance. It really was a wonderful day; made to run all the more smoothly due to the expert planning and on the day management from Melanie from Bellissimo Wedding and Event Planning, who really did a splendid job.

Helen and Miles jet off to the Maldives for their honeymoon. Thank you guys for choosing us to photograph your wedding, we had a great time! We wish you well for the future. Please feel free to leave a comment should you wish.

The wedding of Zoe and Mark at Compton Acres

On Sunday, Zoe and Mark got married and they chose to do it at the stylish Italian Villa at Compton Acres. Zoe from Poole knew the area well and Mark from Hertfordshire has fond memories of the area from childhood holidays to the Bournemouth area. I must admit, it one of my favourite venues too!

Alan and I met Mark and his best man Martin at the venue, and after a quick bit of assistance from Alan with Martin’s cravat, it was off into the gardens for some shots before the registrars arrived. Soon the guests were seated and it was time for Zoe to arrive in a stunning silver Bentley, she looked radiant in her beautiful drop waisted, embellished wedding gown complete with delicate pink hydrangea bouquet. Zoe was accompanied by her proud Mum and Aunt.

It was not long before the ceremony began. Zoe entered the ceremony room to the Carpenter’s ‘I won’t last a day without you,’ Mark waited for his ‘wife to be’ to join him by his side and there they were to exchange those all important words that would transform them into ‘Mr & Mrs!!’

Once the ceremony was over it was into the gardens for the guests who lined the steps waiting for the newly weds to make their way down the steps from the villa. Confetti canyons shot confetti way into the air as Zoe and Mark smiled their way down the steps to meet their assembled guests.

The group photos taken, Zoe and Mark were whisked off into the Japanese gardens for some contemporary portraits before heading to a stunning house in Sandbanks for their reception. Alan and I join them here as the celebrations continued with speeches and much eating, drinking and being merry. It was a wonderful occasion.

Alan and I would like to thank you for choosing us to photograph your wedding, we had a wonderful time and we wish you every happiness for the future. Enjoy that amazing cruise around the Caribbean and we look forward to hearing from you on your return.

Julia and Neil's Wedding

Yesterday Alan and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the wedding of Julia and Neil. It really was a very special day for all involved. The day started with me meeting Julia and her gorgeous family and bridesmaids, Bethany, Kara and Annie at her home, whilst Alan met up with Neil, Graham and Jordan for the getting ready shots. It was not long before it was time to depart for their ceremony that was to take place at the beautiful St Aldhelm's chapel, situated out on the ledge at Worthy Matravers, stopping off for some sneaky shots at Corfe Castle - the girls and the Square and Compass pub - the boys.

Once at the chapel the marriage ceremony could begin, this was a very special moment, as it was Neil's Dad Alun who conducted the service in the chapel lit only by candlelight. There was hardly a dry eye in the house as both Neil and Julia recited their vows from memory. As the newly weds left the chapel it soon became clear just how windy the day was so we popped back in for the group shots before Julia and Neil our new Mr and Mrs, came out to the cliff top for some bridal portraits.

Julia and Neil then left in their wonderful wedding Landrover heading for the beach and some more portraits before heading back for their reception.

Samantha and Devlin's wedding on a rather hot day!

Well who would have believed it? 26 plus degrees in October? Not me that's for sure and neither did Samantha or Devlin I suppose when they booked their wedding for the 1st October! Not that any of us complained - the weather was glorious as was their wedding!

I met up with Samantha and two of her bridesmaids in Synergy in Blandford where hair was done amongst lot of smiles, champagne and croissants, it was a very civilised start to the day indeed. We then headed back to Samantha's parents house in the beautiful village of Langton Long where the house was a hive of activity as the final preparations were done.

Whilst all of this was going on, Alan met up with Devlin and his groomsmen in the equally picturesque village of Tarrant Monkton where the cosmopolitan group has assembled. You see Devlin is an American and is in the military so this was going to be a different day for us too.

Soon the girls were ready, Samantha's dress was perfect and she made a gorgeous bride; it was time for Samantha, her father and her bridesmaids to walk the short walk to the village church where the marriage would take place. Samantha and Devlin were married by a pastor that Samantha had known since she was a teenager who had flown all the way from the States to perform the ceremony. It was clear that this meant a lot of the couple as they exchanged their vows amongst tears and laughter.

Once married, the new Mr & Mrs left the church through an avenue of bubbles back to Samantha's parents' house for drinks and nibbles in the Autumn sunshine. The newly weds made their way with Alan and I to Badbury Rings for some stunning bridal portraits in this historic setting before making their way to the Langton Arms for their reception.

It really was the perfect English country wedding.

Alan and I are delighted that you chose us to photograph you wedding. We loved every minute of it, thank you for making us feel so welcome. We wish you love and happiness in your new life together.

Jennie and Brett's Wedding

The sun shone on Jennie and Brett yesterday as they celebrated their wedding day at the King's Hotel in Christchurch, it was a fabulous day in a stunning setting. I arrived as the bridal preparations were starting, Lynne and Kerry from Beautiful Brides were starting Jennie's transformation from beautiful girl to stunning bride. I quickly got to work photographing all of Jennie's bit and pieces including her gorgeous wedding dress, the Dublin design by Ronald Joyce. Jennie works as a flight attendant and had spotted her dress on a recent trip to New York ordering it on her return to the UK. I can quite see why she fell in love with it too, it was certainly a show stopper. Soon Jennie was dressed and was accompanied by an emotional Mum, a proud Dad, sister Sarah and nieces Amelie and Ava, all of whom looked amazing too.

Alan met Brett and his brother Ellis in the tea garden opposite the hotel where photos were taken close to the historic priory and bowling green before it was time for the ceremony to begin. There were smiles and laughter all through the service as Jennie and Brett said the phrases that would make them husband and wife.

After reception drinks out on the lawn, the group photos taken and some special portraits of the happy couple in the historic Old Priory and Christchurch Castle before it was time to head into the Priory Suite for the wedding breakfast. Decked out in classy whites and sparkling crystals, the room looked elegant, it was a super backdrop for their beautiful cake that Brett had so clevery made!

Alan and I really enjoyed photographing this wedding and wish the new Mr and Mrs every happiness in their new lives together, enjoy your honeymoon in your new camper van and we hope to hear from you soon.

Amy and Stuart are married!

Amy and Stuart are now married after meeting at college 8 years ago and Alan and I were there to record the day for them and what a wonderful day it was too.

I started the day with Amy and her two bridemaids, Charlotte and Sinead at Reef Hair Salon in Ashley Cross in Poole where hair was done and Bucks Fizz drunk before heading back to Amy and Stuart's home to get the all important dress on, and what a beautiful dress it was too. Amy had chosen well!

Alan met up with Stuart and his entourage at his family home in Bere Regis before heading for a sneaky drink en route to St John the Baptist chuch where the ceremony was to take place.

Amy arrived and the couple were married, photos were taken, confetti was thrown before heading off for their reception at The Sandbanks Hotel. After the speeches it was down to the beach for moonlight shots before the evening celebrations began!!

Amy and Stuart head off to Italy for their honeymoon, we hope you have a fantastic time and we hope these photos are some of the first few you can be proud of.

Jordana and Lee's Wedding at Compton Acres

We first met Jordana and Lee over a year ago and it was clear to see even then they were excited about their wedding! Jordana and Lee held their wedding at Compton Acres which is a spectacular venue and what a spectacular wedding it was too. Jordana looked stunning in her Ritva and Chenca 'Peony' Dress, she was accompanied by her two gorgeous bridesmaids, sister Fabiana and sister in law to be, Chloe. The girls wore a striking emerald green.

In true Italian tradition, Jordana's family are Italian, the celebrations started at her parents' house with champagne and nibbles in the garden which was bedecked with the red carpet for the occasion.

Alan met up with Lee and his entourage at the couple's home before heading off to Compton Acres for the ceremony. Jordana was 'fashionably' late and there was hardly a dry eye in the house as Jordana entered on her father's arm, especially Lee!

Once the legalities were over, it was out into the gardens, Jordana's dad had arranged for an opera singer to greet the couple, which was a total surprise and an excuse for a few more tears before photos were taken of the celebrations.

Congratulations to the newly weds, we very much enjoyed being a part of your day and wish you well for the future. Enjoy your cruise on 'Navigator of the Seas' we look forward to hearing from you on your return. Summer evening engagement shots for Annie and Richard.....

Well maybe not summer exactly, as last night was 1st September, but the way the sun shone on the golden sands of Sandbanks Beach last night you would have thought it was 'high summer' as we met up with Annie and Richard for their engagement photos. The couple, recently returned from a holiday in Turkey were relaxed and happy as Alan and I photographed them. It was a lovely evening and I am sure you will agree we took some great shots of the two of them. Annie and Richard's wedding is not until next July but it is clear that the plans and preparations are well underway.

Thank you for making things easy for us last night guys, we really enjoyed meeting up with you again, we hope you like what you see in the first instance, I will be in touch later with the rest! Good Luck with the start of the new term Annie and I hope work goes well for you too on Monday Richard.

Katherine and James' Wedding

Founded by St. Aldhelm in AD 705, the Abbey has developed from Saxon cathedral to the worshipping heart of a monastic community, and finally, to one of the most beautiful of England's parish churches. For many it is still the 'cathedral of Dorset', and our Benedictine heritage lives on in the daily offering of prayer and praise.

Here are a selection of photos from the wedding of Katherine and James which Alan and I had the pleasure of photographing on Saturday. The ceremony was held at the historic and stunning Sherborne Abbey with their reception being held at Sherborne Boys School of which James is a past pupil. This venue was equally historic with very notable alumni.

Alan and I would like to wish the newly weds every happiness and would like to thank them for choosing us as their wedding photographers.

Congratulations and have a wonderful honeymoon in Antigua. We look forward to hearing from you on your return to the UK!

Amy and Stuart engagement photos at Old Harry Rocks

This morning we dodged the showers, in fact the weather was so bad at one point, we almost cancelled, we are glad we didn't! So we made our way to Old Harry Rocks on the Isle of Purbeck for Amy and Stuart's engagement photos. Old Harry Rocks is a special place for them as this was where Stuart proposed to Amy. I must admit that is one of mine and Alan's favourite places too so we were more than happy to meet them there this morning.
It is only three weeks until the wedding and it was lovely to catch up with them again, we hope you like the selection of photos we have chosen to blog. We very much look forward to photographing your big day on 10th September.

Caroline and Mark's engagement shoot at Highcliffe Castle

It has been a busy few days for us with one wedding and three engagement shoots in four days, but it makes us appreciate how great our job is! We love it!

We met up with Caroline and Mark yesterday morning at the stunning Highcliffe Castle and the weather could not have been more kind, big fluffy white clouds, a hint of sunshine and not a breath of wind. Caroline and Mark were naturals in front of the camera and we took lots of lovely photos of this great couple. Here is a selection from the shoot, the rest will be online on Saturday. Katherine and James at The Moors Valley Country Park

Today we met up with the lovely Katherine and James for their pre-wedding photoshoot. We decided this time to go to The Moors Valley Country Park which is close to our home and very beautiful indeed. Katherine and James entered into the spirit of the shoot and smiled a laughed all the way as they proudly wore their rugby shirts reflecting their own individual hertitage. James and Katherine only have two weeks before their wedding and have chosen two wonderful venues for their big day, Sherborne Abbey and Sherborne Boys' School of which James is an ex-pupil. It is bound to be a brilliant day and we cannot wait to meet up them once again to photograph all the celebrations!

Helen and Miles, Hengistbury Head and 'The Golden Hour'

We met Helen and Miles at Hengistbury Head last night for their pre-wedding photoshoot and we couldn't have timed it better for the light! On arrival, the light was soft, painting the harbour and the beach huts in gorgeous pastel colours, however as soon as we went to the top of the headland, the sun came out to play and painted the heathland in a soft golden glow. We timed 'The Golden Hour' to perfection with this one.

It was lovely seeing Helen and Miles again and we very much look forward to your Christmas wedding at New Place Manor in December.

Samantha and Darren's Wedding at The Chewton Glen Hotel

Samantha and Darren are married! Alan and I were lucky enough to be chosen to photograph their big day, and what a great day it was for all. The day started for me with Sam and her closest friends and family at the stylish Garden Suite at The Lord Bute Hotel where a relaxed and happy Sam finished off her bridal preparations before heading out into the private garden for photos.

Alan met up with a nervous Darren and his nearest and dearest at sumptuous The Chewton Glen where the grounds were explored and photos taken.

The ceremony took place in the Morning Room, emotions were running high as Darren and Sam made the vows that would transform them into husband and wife!

After the ceremony it was out into the gardens for more photos and a surprise live butterfly release that had been lovingly planned and organised by Sam’s Mum.

Soon it was time to depart and make our way back to the The Lord Bute for the wedding breakfast, speeches occurred, Darren cleverly wrote a poem for the occasion and Sam’s brother, Alex and Mum did the couple proud following the loss of Sam’s beloved Dad, Richard.

Sam and Darren had allowed enough time for a sneaky trip to Steamer Point for some great photos alongside the beach and colourful beach huts before heading back for their evening reception.

On Saturday, the newlyweds head off to Mexico for their honeymoon, have a fabulous time in the sunshine!

Jordana and Lee's pre wedding photoshoot at Sandbanks

This afternoon Alan and I met up with the lovely Jordana and Lee for their pre wedding photoshoot. Jordana and Lee are getting married in September of this year at the stunning Compton Acres and are clearly excited about their big day!

Today's photoshoot took place on Sandbanks beach overlooking the Isle of Purbeck where Lee is from. Here is a selection of their photos, the rest will be online later in the week. We are really looking forward to this wedding, we know it is going to be AMAZING!!

Amy and Bogdan's wedding at Nutfield Priory

On Sunday, Alan and I ventured to Nutfield Priory in Surrey to photograph the wedding of Amy and Bogdan. Amy and Bogdan are just passing through these shores, both of them are from New York although Bogdan's family originate from Bulgaria so we knew this wedding was going to be different. I think it is true to say that the couple fell in love with the venue at first sight and who can blame them? It is a stunning venue with a gorgeous view, match that with first class service and you cannot go wrong!

I met up with Amy as hair and make up were underway. Amy looked lovely before any make up was applied and the perfect sophisticated bridal transformation was soon for all of us to see. It was a relaxed couple of hours with Amy, her sister Beth and her niece Sophie, Mum and Dad appeared as did fellow New Yorker Liz and the preparations were completed all to the backdrop of the Wimbledon Men's Final.

Alan met Bodgan in the gardens and took some photos there before it was into the Gibson's suite for the ceremony. Once the service was over we went out onto the terrace for photos of the families and some bridal portraits of the happy couple and a sneaky Skype chat from Bodgan to his Mum back in Bulgaria!

Amy and Bodgan are off honeymooning on the beautiful island of Sardinia before coming back to the UK to pack up their apartment before starting a new life together in Bulgaria.

Lynsay and Steve are married and they did it in style yesterday at The Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth.

It was an early start for me at A'Courts in Winton as Lynsay, her six bridesmaids, flower girl and Mum all were there to have their hair done. Buck Fizz was opened and the day started really well. We then headed back to Lynsay and Steve's home to get the dresses on. Lynsay's dress Maggie Sottero, Elouise was beautiful as were the Amanda Wyatt bridesmaid dresses in an unusual green and gold shot silk.

Alan met Steve, his Dad, best man and usher in the gardens of the hotel, where some great photos were taken of the men all looking very handsome.

It was soon time for the ceremony which was held in the Garden Suite, the whole party looked amazing. The sun later shone and it was outside for photos and to enjoy the day's celebrations. Alan and I stayed throughout the whole day, capturing some heartfelt and sincere speeches before the evening reception in the grand De Vere Suite and the dancing began.

Steve and Lynsay head off on Ventura on Monday for a sensational cruise to the Canary Islands.

We wish them love and happines, we are delighted that they chose us to capture their big day! We hope you like your sneak peek.... we found it hard to choose just a few, so there are quite a few for you to enjoy!!

Samantha and Devlin's countryside engagement shots at Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle and the surrounding area is one of the reasons why Alan and I love Dorset so much, it is a unspoilt rural retreat, in fact one day we plan to retire there! But not for a few years yet! So it is no wonder that we were delighted that Sam and Dev decided to have their engagement shoot in this tranquil and beautiful setting.

Sam and Dev are getting married in the Autumn, Sam's family live in Langton Long and Dev is all the way from the Oklahoma in the USA. They are planning a traditional English wedding, their picturesque church coupled with the Langton Arms in Tarrant Monkton will do just that.

Summer evening engagement shots for Lynsay and Stephen

Lynsay and Steve have chosen to get married in The Secret Garden at The Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth on 11th June, last night we met up with them to dicuss the final details of their big day. We also took the opportunity to take some photos of them, the light was gorgeous and it was lovely to see Bournemouth looking so beautiful. We look forward to seeing you next weekend on your BIG DAY, we too are keeping our fingers crossed for some lovely sunshine!!
