Claudia and Jack's vintage inspired 'homemade' wedding

Saturday morning's weather forecast could not have been more un-wedding like as Alan and I drove to meet Claudia, her bridesmaid Claire and her parents at their home in Bournemouth.  The rain was forecast to be torrential and the thunder claps loud! However, it seems as the skies brightened that the forecasters might be wrong and the weather would be good!  Time would tell it seemed.

There was a flurry of activity from the moment I arrived at the family home, with all things ‘homemade’ it wasn’t surprising.  Claudia, Jack and their respective families had put heart and soul into this wedding, and it was all the little things that was going to make this wedding unique.  The marquee in the back garden was adorned with homemade bunting, place cards, and trimmings.  The wine to be drunk had been made by the happy couple, as had lots of the jams and quinces; the guests were in for a treat. Things went like clockwork though, thanks to Claire’s fiancĂ© Steve, who worked his socks off to get thinks ready.  He really was a star!!
Claudia and Claire were ready bang on time. Claudia looked stunning in her beaded Jenny Packham gown from Daisy Bridal in Boscombe and perfectly coiffured ‘up do’ with sparkly slides. Claire looked equally elegant in her coral Dessy gown; it was definitely a very stylish wedding. Soon it time to leave for the Town Hall. The couple had chosen to hold their ceremony in the Council Chamber which is both a grand and stunning venue.

Whilst I had been photographing the bridal preps; Alan had been busy with Jack and Simon his best man in the gardens outside the Town Hall. They both looked handsome in their grey morning suits and coral accessories.

Photos were taken of Claudia’s arrival with her father in their 1958 vintage Morris Minor.  It was then time for an emotional and personal ceremony for this beautiful couple before heading outside for some photos in Bournemouth Gardens.  This was when we realised that the forecasters had indeed got it right; as from nowhere, the heavens opened the rain literally poured from the skies!! This could not dampen the spirits of the newly weds or their guests as we made our way swiftly back to house for the reception.
Here the guests were able to appreciate all the hard work and personal touches that had gone into this wedding.  It really was lovely!

We dodged the showers, took photos and used the house’s magnificent stained glass window for some fab shots of this glamorous couple before the wedding breakfast began.  Food was eaten, speeches and toasts done. It was a lovely happy atmosphere all round.

The evening reception started with the official cake cut, complete with custom made sword, arranged as a surprise by best man Simon, it looked stunning!

Claudia and Jack will head off on their honeymoon later, but in the meantime, there is a house to complete on and a wonderful start to their married like.  Alan and I would like to wish them all the best for future and thank them for choosing us to photograph their wedding.  They requested a vintage feel for their photos and this is what they got.  It certainly suited them and their wedding perfectly!!

Love Donna and Alan xxxxx
